To Our Readers:
(Editor’s Note: In a stunning turnaround, last week’s rumor du jour of a budget vote on February 3 appears to be false. The chief correspondent of California’s Capitol has been chastised, furloughed and had a strongly worded letter placed in his employee file for circulating baseless fables.)

Don’t be too hard on the correspondent.

You forgot the worst punishment of all times and that is to continue to wait for a budget, then be required to read every word of it! When and if it ever comes out.

No worries on the false rumor. Am I the only one freaking out that the budget–whenever it is passed–will have had no public hearings? Government by innuendo and “take my word?” Please.
