CRP Statement Concerning Obama’s Job Summit
SACRAMENTO – California Republican Party Chairman Ron Nehring today issued the following statement:
“Today’s ‘job summit’ is political theater aimed at moving the national dialogue away from the complete failure of the so-called ‘stimulus’ to stimulate anything other than the national debt, which continues to skyrocket.
“If President Obama and Democrats like Barbara Boxer and Nancy Pelosi really want to create jobs, they should stop pushing for more massive spending and tax hikes and start working with Republicans on common-sense solutions like tax cuts for small businesses that are proven to create jobs by driving economic growth.”
###
(Editor’s Note: Mr. Nehring is correct that calling the federal America Recovery and Reinvestment Act an economic stimulus package is a misnomer. The American Public Employee Preservation Act would be a more truthful description of the measure’s primary focus.)
