Meet the Candidate of the Public Employees’ Unions For PERS

Cathy Hackett is, according to the flyer sent by Service Employees International Union and other unions representing public employees is “a tough-minded independent leader” and a “successful advocate for our retirement and health care.”

On her website, her biography notes that from 1984 until 2009 she has been a budget analysts (sic) with Caltrans and a union steward from 1983 until the present. From 1996 to 2008 she was secretary-treasurer of SEIU Local 1000.

    The whole of the CalPERS board is made-up of union goons.

    And they be do’in a GREAT job too!

  3. Sometimes people forget it was the unions who fought for sick leave, forty hour work weeks, and weekends. Having someone on the board who will stand up for working people is not a bad idea.
