Better Tell Governor Brown and Step On It, Time’s Wasting
This was being handed to attendees waiting to enter Sacramento’s Memorial Auditorium for Gov. Jerry Brown’s inaugural:
(Editor’s Note: Among the reasons for the precision of the May 21, 2011 deadline, as it were, are that it is 7,000 years from 4990 B.C. when Noah built his ark and survived the flood. May 21 is also 722,500 days from April 1 33 A.D., the date of Jesus’ crucifixation, the brochure says, offering another “infallible, absolute proof that May 21, 2011 is the date of the Rapture.” It also appears important that 722,500 is comprised of 5 x 10 x 17 x 5 x 10 x 17. Apparently, 17 signifies heaven, 10 completeness and 5 atonement. With apologies to the pamphlet’s author, the numerologic significance is not compelling, at least to a layman’s eye.)
